DEBUT EP “Painting the Sky” is AVAILABLE!
One must experience Chasca in order to “get it.” Not only is the intensity and execution of the music amplified in the live setting, but the SHOW, the SPECATACLE is indescribable.
In this project’s infancy, all members felt a certain reluctance and ennui about being “in a band.” We all still had the overwhelming desire to play music, and as the music grew, our membership “in a band” became inevitable.
Chasca has grown up as an exceptionally collaborative project, with all members contributing to songwriting and production. Chasca’s sound and show reflect the band’s collective experience and wisdom, despite it’s recent emergence. Chasca’s hunger for expression and insistence upon excellence integrate the distinct influences and philosophies of its members into a cohesive, singular act.
Chasca:
Hails from Austin, Texas. Members reside in South Austin and San Marcos.
We blend influences from art rock, jazz, pop, and classical music to produce a unique and innovative sound that maintains a familiar, nostalgic appeal.
Introducing the musicians:
The Mars Man makes music out of sheer necessity. Years of experience singing and playing everything from drums to keys to flute in America and Europe have colored his creativity with shades of melancholy, cynicism, boundless wit, and charm.
Killer plays bass without a net; no frets, no limits. His playing is at once paradoxically intricate, solid, and simple.
Scorch unobtrusively carries the sound and the audience through the highs and lows of Chasca’s dynamic compositions with heavy-handed drive, gentle groove, and perfect rythmic accents.
Dirty Dan plays a custom guitar with a soulful yet esoteric style, exhibiting influences ranging from classical to heavy metal.
